Gazebo/ Cover Recommendations

Postby OttoMotive » Sun Oct 05, 2014 2:54 pm

Hi everyone,

I'm in need of a gazebo or cover in order to not be subject to poor weather

I like the idea of the pop up gazebos available on the likes of eBay but without seeing it in person it's a blind buy for the best part of £100

What do you use and what would you recommend?

Thanks

Looking forward to the responses here, I'm looking at gazebos too! There's a lot of junk out there!

Having spent that kind of money on one, I'd say spend more. The biggest problems are that the rain tends to be accompanied by the wind. So you have to make the call as to whether you can risk the gazebo lifting and damaging the vehicle etc

That said, I know of people that use the higher quality type and seem to get on ok

Aslong as its a pop up gazebo and not one of the click together ones even the cheap ones are pretty well built one thing i would reccomend if you can do and seen a few people do.it put the legs through the centre bores of alloy wheels then strap them down to the alloys! :)

Im using one of these:

http://rockawnings.co.uk/explorerawning.html

Ive got the 3m x 4m - with sides and its a serious piece of kit. Ive only had it for 2 months - but I've used a few eBay specials over the last 2 years, and generally you are lucky if you get 6 months constant use out of them.

The Rock Awning is leagues ahead in strength, fitments, quality and finish - but they aren't cheap and they are bloody heavy! (bagged up with all the sides its 50kg's of weight!!)

That is a fantastic recommendation
It's good that it highlights how it opens etc.

Thanks

I bought one of these last year and its still going strong
http://www.easygazebos.com/epages/es114 ... /ST-01-GRN" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;"
and I can put the thing up and down on my own. You need quite a bit of space to work round but it hasn't let me down yet. And I have a set of these to keep it on the ground

And one of it in action
