On-Site Car Show Preparation by Classic Details

My first job back after a lovely Christmas / New Year break was on-site preparation of this stunning TVR 420 SEAC for the PH Heroes stand at the Performance Car Show / Autosport International at the NEC.

The car was driven (...I know...) to the NEC from it's Gloucestershire Home and nestled into it's spot. Then the fun began! Once all particles and waterspots picked-up on the journey had been removed, the Kevlar Bodywork was treated to an application of Prima Epic which gave a really deep, glossy shine under the show lighting. The leather interior was cleaned and treated, tyres dressed, glass cleaned and wheels and exhaust tip polished to make sure it really stood out from the crowd.

Considering this is currently a daily-driven car, I have to say I felt very proud of the standard of finish!

2007 volvo, estate, 170k miles, dog, farm!!!

A lovley way to start the year for me with a full valet on a car that's being sold ( they always are) and has not had the easyiest life.

First job to get some an online supplier non caustic TFR around it including the door shuts then a good jet wash down got rid of that thick layer of mud and grit
The wheels haven't seen any form of cleaner since the last the last labour government so it had to be an acid based cleaner from Autosmart with the tyres and arches cleaned with an online supplier MPC
Shampoo was an online supplier's autoshine I find this gives an excellent clean and leaves no film or residue behind. Tar spots with Autosmart Tardis then a final wash and dry of with IPA ,
The budget and the priority was to get this saleable so I used autosmarts platinum polish by hand . It seems to clean the surface chemically as it has little cutting action , it also fills small defects and will keep it glossy long enough to sell.
External plastics was autosmarts Trim ultra.

Next on to the interior after a dry hoover carpets where washed with autojoyMPC and finished with a mixture of black diamond and autojoys carpet shampoo
Leather seats got a clean with autosmart leather shampoo dash and internal plastics finished with an online supplier pink sheen
All in approx. 5 1/2 hours

Hi everyone!

Hi all, just joined up after looking around as it seems to be quite a friendly forum! I work for a dealership doing valeting (as some may know it is based on the cheaper per car the better rather than quality)

Although I really like and prefer the detailing. Mostly my own car and occasionally throughout the year family and friends cars. I will get some pics up soon, but got to clean it first!
